Queendom Hijab

Queendom Hijabs, we have Hijabs for Life

Thanks to an entrepreneurial young woman, Muslim women have a new - and warmer - alternative to their traditional hijabs as temperatures drop in Canada this winter. This young entrepreneur from Ottawa has designed fashionable head covers, made from water-resistant nylon and lined with fleece, which can be worn alone or over a traditional hijab. The toasty hijabs are the brainchild of Abeer Al-Azzawi, a 24-year-old university graduate student who got into design because of a gap she saw in the clothing market for young women. Her stylish hijabs have been featured in numerous articles including the Ottawa Business Journal, National Post, Muslim Girl magazine, AM 940 Montreal , and CBC Manitoba Radio One. Abeer used the services of the Entreprenurship Centre's "Summer Company" program which helps young entreprenurs plan and implement a business idea into reality. Abeer continued her business after the end of the summer program and conitues to produce and sell her fashionable hijabs while attending university.

{BACKGROUND}

Queendom Hijabs was founded by Abeer Al-Azzawi after registering in the Ontario Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship program entitled "Summer Company". This program provided Abeer with seed capital to launch the business and provide mentoring services in order to achieve the success the business is now beginning to see.
